My kid is really into drawing but sometimes he starts drawing straight onto the carpet – and the crayon leaves terrible stains behind.
Thankfully, I have found a few ways to remove crayon marks from a carpet – and I have put these removal methods to the test. They are extremely easy and effective!
The first thing you need to do is scoop up the crayon residue with a spoon or a butter knife.
Then place ice cubes in a bag and place it on top of the stain. You need to freeze the crayon so it’s easier to remove without spreading it on unaffected areas.
Then place a towel on top of the crayon marks, turn on your iron, and press into the towel. The frozen crayon will start to melt then it will transfer from the carpet onto the towel. Repeat these steps a few times until the stain is removed completely!
If the first method seemed like too much work or you just don’t have ice cubes at home then start off with mixing a few drops of liquid dish soap with a cup of warm water. Place a cloth over the affected area then pour the soapy water over the cloth. Let it sit for a few minutes so it can soak the carpet.
Then, once again, take your iron and turn it on to the lowest setting. Place it over the cloth and hold it there for a few seconds. Repeat these steps until the stain is fully transferred from the carpet onto the cloth!
